House Tomen

A pious family that only recently became a powerful house after the Rexcidium War. Friendly with the Romith Church, House Tomen has been a financial contributor for decades, and often used the teachings of the church as more of a focus for their governing than others may be comfortable. This was especially controversial when King Amor Tristunjark awarded them the Duchy of Eastchurch. However, the King made such a choice as House Tomen decided to side with the people of Tel, risking their relationship with eh Church, which had officially sided with House Vallius (though this fact is much more complicated).

Beginning as humble farmers, House their piety to obtain social and moral power, using it to grow into a minor house, but one that was respected by commoners. Now rulers of Eastchurch, House Tomen has quite a bit more responsibility than just a few baronies. Compared to their predecessors, House Brakken, the Tomen family may be more liked, but many feel they lack what is needed to rule.
