3/8/24 Old friends in Tall Places

General Summary

The Eve of the 6th Annulet Moon in Nova
Aeon's Avengers, curious about who would pay so much money for a Winter's Welp struck out in serch of the benefactor whoes name they found in the back of The Ebon Rune. They quickly learned that Irnas inhabited the tall light house looking tower on the southern edge of Windvale, colocquially known as The Anchored Pillar. Whilst approaching the pillar, Aeon's Avendgers became distracted by the large and long chain affixed to the front of the porch of the Lighthouse and followed towards the coastline. Upon discovering the chain ran all the way into the ocean they saw a young looking half-elf girl who immediately recognized Chronos named Tiempo. Tiempo is living and working as Irnas' apprentice at the Anchored Pillar and was happy to see a friend from back home.

Chronos filled Tiempo in on their adventures in looking for a hag and how they had mad a deal with the winter wolf to protect her and her young in exchange for her runt and Tiempo told them that her master is not easily convinced of anything once he sets his mind to it. She agreed to bring them to meet her master so they could attempt to plead their case.

Upon entering Irnas of the Anchored Pillar they quickly discerned that Tiempo was using pass phrases to disable traps as they traversed within the pillar itself. They encountered Irnas who seemed quick to dismiss them as bothersome and dismissed Tiempo to her room once Aeon's Avengers began to get a bit mouthy with him. Irabella cast "Fast Friends" on Irnas and was able to persuade him into giving them some information and making a deal that Aeon's Avengers would deal with the demon that Nesta, Death's Assassin had sent to inhabit the body of his first mate Oakes and in return he would grant them a favor/promise to be named at a later date. Irabella taught Irnas about a ritual known as "pinky promises" and told him that if he faltered on his promise he would die. He granted them access to this laboratory where they were able to quickly dispose of a demon who was possessing Oakes' body.

The Avengers were able to nose around the laboratory before they were interrupted and found that Irnas' had many books on ancient histories, spell work, and strange objects. He also had 4 glass coffins, one empty and whole, one shattered, and two that contained bodies. One contained the body of an elderly half-elf female, the other the body of a parrot. Flimp Cheeky was able to sneak a scroll into his bag of hoarding. Irnas' interrupted them quite impressed with Irabella's quick charming and happy to have gained the knowledge of the ritual known as a "pinky promise" and agreed to have lunch with them. He also agreed to drop the topic of obtaining a Winter Welp, a task he was under taking to give his apprentice more to do to keep her out of his hair. He summoned Tiempo from her quarters to set out a meal for them.

Over lunch they discussed Irnas' annoyance at the Prime Deities, beings he discussed with great familiarity and intimate knowledge. He discussed with Calista that he knew all about her scroll and understood that to mean that Calypso was summoning her to answer her call to action to try and free the banished prime deities Raghnall and Nicolo. Irnas all but confirmed that it was Calypso visiting Calista in their dreams. He was familiar with the existence of the Library of Clio and how the temples of the 9 sisters would unlock the Temple of Mimir which is one of the paths to the prison where the banished Primes are kept locked away.

After Freya asked if Irnas' was familiar with her grandmother he quickly recognized her as being her grandmother's granddaughter and asked her if she intended to take the seat being held for and heir of Davina on the council. Irnas' expressed his general dislike of the 7 Crown Seekers calling them needy and naggy and revealed that the newest elected official to hold office in The Chapel of Peace as a representative of Vesper, Gifted Mystic Akna Belessunu, sat on the council of The Seven Crown Seekers. He also mused about Davina's habits of manning entire trade ships with undead crews.

Chronos struggled with some of the harsh words Irnas said about the gods and The Priesthood of Davian. They verified with Tiempo that the things Irnas was saying was true and that Tiempo was developing similar feelings. The group lightly discussed a great war that occured during Irnas' lifetime where the Prime Deities fought one another, blackened the sky, and killed thousands and thousands of people who lived on the ground.

Flimp Cheeky showed Irnas the money he had been gifted by a surprise, and discussed lightly that quill had been visiting him in his dreams. Flimp asked Irnas if he knew what a "Rebirth Stone" was and Irnas quickly changed tones. Where he had been willingly offering up information and conversating he became a bit more tight lipped explaining that people would pay him a lot of money for the answer to that particular question, but that he had a craving for fresh seafood and suggested if the group brought him something delicious and tasty he might be more willing to discuss it.
