Eldon Outpost
Eldon OutPost is inhabited mostly by members of The Heart Guardians, and is headed by a Den Father. Though the outpost is small, Den Father Yinphine chooses this location as his base and he is the Den Father for all outposts that border Vesper west of The Shivering Glow. Many groups of Heart Guardians move through here on a regular basis to give regular report on the status of the border.
The Outpost itself is small, and often used as a point of launch for many novices training in The Heart Guardians. Often novices are sent here to stay while Adepts from their targeted outpost travel to pick them up during regular check-ins.
Demographics
While Eldon Outpost is mostly members of the Heart Guardians, they are also home to one small temple with a priest who doubles as a school teacher, a large storage facility run by the Heart Guardians, an Inn, a barracks, and several small houses. There are some families that reside here at the outpost full time, mostly the family of leadership, but also some tradesmen. Since a majority of the population is made of Heart Guardians, the outpost is mostly populated with Elves, Half-Elves, Humans, and Dwarves.
Government
This Outpost answers to Den Father Yinphine, despite the presence of Templed Priest Deldryn Addar, an elderly dwarvian priest. Deldryn answers to her Gifted Temple Priest, Oswin Aethalwine. Officially the temple in this Outpost is dedicated to Aeon, Agza, Protector of Travelers, and Dehstarr, Goddess of Harvest. People here also often pay tribute to Inos, God of the Hunt since hunting is a significant past time for soilders and how many are fed here.
Defences
The surrounding hills protect this settlement fairly well, but also the consistent march of Heart Guardians coming to give report keeps it very safe. There is usually one troop of Heart Guardians coming through a week to give their regular update and report to Den Father Yinphine. Sometimes they bring through traders and supplies to restock the outpost and sometimes they bring empty carts for restocking.
Industry & Trade
There are some local trades people who live in Eldon, a simple weapons smith capable of sturdy repair work, a couple of tailors who are good enough to repair offical garb and make sturdy clothing for the locals who wish to purchase local and not import. The Heart Guardians take care of all the the building needs and upkeeping the outpost, even the homes of the locals. They also take on the primary job of hunting and providing food for most of the locals. It's a tentative partnership since most of the locals are either family members of current Heart Guardians OR relatives of Guardians who have passed away or moved away.
Infrastructure
Eldon Outpost is modest. The Temple, called Eldon Temple doubles as a school house for the few children who live at the Outpost, most of them are children of The Heart Guardians. There is also a substintial supply depot, while it is well stocked it is also expensive and there is an upcharge for anyone who does not carry a symbol of The Holy Guardians of Davian. There is a modest barraks that houses any Novices and Adepts who do not have families and thus do not require a home.
There are a couple of fields where locals grow large community gardens to help feed themselves and add to the supply depot, many local children and the partners of Heart Guardians tend this.
There is also one Inn in town that doubles as a local watering hole. It's not a traditional tavern and doesn't have a bar, but a comfortable and well stocked dining room and a friendly local family (The Gunden Family) keeps the doors open. Often people play cards, dice, or chess.
Tourism
Travelers from Davian will often stop at this Outpost on their way to Vesper as a last restocking location or a last visit at an offical Temple. This is also a common place for Davian travlers to receive blessings, healings, take vows, or have marraige contracts fulfilled. Priest Deldryn is often very busy in early Nova and late Ashe as people travel to and from Vesper before and after their harsh winter.
The citizens of Vesper do occasionally pass through this Outpost, or near it, especially Merchants who have well established rapport with the locals. While The Heart Guardians are tolerant of the people of Vesper and their very different ways of worshiping the Gods, many traveling groups of Vesper Natives will avoid any type of outpost.
Geography
Eldon Outpost is nestled in the last of the rolling hills from the Kilokilo Mountians that peter off in the north. It's heavily surrounded by woods as it starts to strech into Vesper territory which is dense with heavy wooded areas.
