The Conflict
Prelude
Following The Sack of Babyl, the recently liberated orcs released their decades of frustration and enslavement upon the ancient Dwarven kingdom of Khur Khaldûr in what is now known as the Seige of Centuria. The siege lasted nearly four months and resulted in the murder of Glindul Khaldûr, the death of over 10,000 dwarves, and the ruin of their beloved home, Khur Khaldûr.
The Khaldûrian's spent decades rebuilding their ruined home. All throughout this time, the dwarves grew more and more enraged towards those on the outside who did not send help. This indignation would only serve to fuel thoughts of retaliation towards those who turned their back on them in their hour of need. However, the crumpled kingdom did not have the necessary forces to take on such a conflict. It wasn't until the creation of the Dwarven Centurion that the remaining folks of Khur Khaldûr could extract their revenge.
Thus providing the necessary might the Khaldûrian's were hoping for...

Similarly, the defeat seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for the kingdom at Khur Khaldûr. Since the Siege, the kingdom will unfortunately remain in ruin; victims of a circumstance not of their doing.
Historical Significance
Technological Advancement
The Dwarven Centurion singlehandedly kept the dwarves in this fight much longer than they had any right to be. Not only that, but they were able to move on the offense with ease. Not very well researched since their destruction, they were rumored to have been powered through magic and steam power.
Similar "robotics" in the recent ages have been the newly made Warforged.
