Demonology Research Department

A small department within the Royal Academy of Magic. As their subject of study is not held in high regard by any scholars, and owing to the stubbornness of the head researcher, Professor Giorgios, the department receives very little attention, funding, and respect. They have been relegated to the Department of Necromancy attic, where they work tirelessly on Giorgios's pet project, discerning the true nature of the Astrals.

Professor Giorgios

A professor of the Demonology Research Department at the Royal Academy of Magic who seems obsessed with proving the existence of the Astrals, though there is not yet any evidence for it.

• He firmly believes that the continent was once settled by a magically and technologically advanced race called the Astrals, who arrived to this land from another world beyond the stars.
• He is close friends with the chancellor of the academy, Cassius Caiaphas, which is part of the reason he has not been laughed out of the magical community yet.

Professor Cassandra

The second professor of the Demonology Research Department. Specializing in conjurations, she has extensively studied the Demon King and the Army of Terror. This makes her the actual leading authority in demonology research, but her personality prevents her from taking too active of a leadership role.

• An extreme introvert, she suffers from severe agoraphobia. Reluctant to speak with strangers or even leave the office, she is perfectly at home among the dusty tomes of history in the cramped attic.
• However, when she speaks on the subject of her passion, demons, she truly comes to life, almost excessively so. She has trouble restraining herself and gets overexcited when it comes to demons. She may seem a little unhealthily obsessed with the demons, but her interest is entirely benign... or so she says.
• She missed almost all the research opportunities in other departments, so all that was left to her was the Demonology Research Department. She was too anxious to refuse Giorgios's offer, and is too shy to resign.

Professor Ellis

The second professor of the Demonology Research Department. Specializing in divinations, he has been studying the mysterious script found on some ancient artifacts. This script cannot be read even by comprehend languages, so he hopes to improve on the spell.

• He often spaces out and gets distracted easily, forgetting to eat or drink or even sleep at times. However, his memory is flawless; he managed to catch a single glimpse of the tablet fragment stored in the Grand Temple of Light one time, and has memorized its contents even if he cannot fully understand them all yet. He's made a copy of the text on 
• He was recruited by Giorgios, who recognized the value in deciphering what he believes is the secret language of the Astrals.
