Yashima

The capital city of The Johin, a beautiful place, full of incredible architecture and streets paved with huge slabs of stone. There are parks and ponds interspersed throughout the city. Some of the parks are floating above street level, with floating stone steps leading up to it, levitating on glowing blue crystals.
The huge, grid-like city of Yashima is built on a hilly island of the same name. There are lots of people here, mostly dressed quite well, in long robes of many colours, both painted on and embroidered. Many people here have hair in elaborate styles, half done up in buns and braids but with long locks trailing down the back.
Yashima is divided into a series of districts, namely: 

The Shores

Northshore

The trade and fishing crescents of the city, located on the north and south stretches.

Shops on the Northshore include:
Bits and Bobs - a general store owned by a human woman called Hee-ra
The Creeping Cauldron - an apothecary owned by an elven woman called Lynn
Iron Ore Smiths - owned by a half-orc called Thadash
The Damask Dream - a brothel with posters of the Jewel Enigma on it, owned by A, but run by an associate called Una, who is Yashima’s most beloved courtesan.

Southshore

There is a The Mazarines Monks outpost here. 

The Augurs

The slightly wealthier trade district, also home to the guilds and the temples to the various Johin deities.

The Ruby Loom Tailors - a tailor shop owned by a firbolg called Grella, she can sew +1 cloth armour if you give her 2 weeks, or 1 week of enchanting time on pre-made armour.
The Kyujang Archives - the main branch of the archives of the Johin


The arts district is here too, and many artisans work here.
The Luminous Lantern - theatre

The Jewel Enigma - yet another theatre
The Royal Johin Institute of the Arcane - a prestigious magic school, separate from the Kyujang Archives. Very snooty
Dak Leaf Hanji-makers - Owned by a fifth gen paper maker, Dae-Hyun. They sell special paper, it costs 10% more than regular paper but it is tear resistant and water resistant. (They sell a blue version that is fire resistant too, costs 20% more than regular paper. They also sell a special version, they call it silver paper, double the cost of regular paper, but any spell inscribed on it does a 1d6 extra damage or lasts slightly longer)
The Gilded Lady’s Trinkets - a magic item store. Owned by Ms Fei. She’s a tall human woman with deep brown wavy hair in a high updo and fine straight brows. She has dark eyes and a wide jaw. And she dresses delicately, in pastel blue and yellow

Inns:
Summer’s End - An inn owned by Uruk, a dragonborn man with blue scales and black hair. His wife’s name is Hayxl.
Amity Resort - A hotel owned by Lady Mai, and her two grandsons help to man the front desk while their parents do the admin work. Her other grandson Tama is the chef, with her daughter Xue Feng.

The Diadem

The wealthiest district, where the Mairei Palace and the embassies are.
