Vydana

Vydana (vye-DAEN-ah) is the goddess of the Fey, Forests, and Forest Creatures.

Relationships

Vydana is the daughter of Gaia and Uranus. She is the mother of Corellon Larethian and Lolth.

Vydana is allied with her mother and helps her maintain the balance between cultivated land and wilderness. Vydana is also close to Aslan as the two tend to the various creatures of the lands together.

Appearance

Vydana appears as a high elven woman with blond hair, emerald eyes, and pale skin. She is typically clad in traditional elven chain over a forest green tunic with a white trim and dark blue trousers.

Church of Vydana

Most of Vydana’s worshipers are benevolent or benign fey, such as nymphs, dryads, naiads, and satyrs. However, she is also worshipped by many benevolent monstrous humanoids, such as centaurs. Among more civilized races, she is favored by many hunters and woodsman, as she is the goddess of forests. Additionally, as the mother of the elves, many elves who live outside of elven lands worship her, and as mother of the fey, many gnomes worship her too.

Clergy

Most of Vydana’s clergy are druids and rangers, though she does have a number of clerics as they tend to her followers within towns and cities. Her clergy wear humble forest green robes trimmed with white. Vydana rarely grants powers to templars, but those she does have often become knights-errant, however, most of her templars are elf-blooded or centaurs.

NOTE FOR TEMPLARS: Templars of Vydana who choose to have a mount are granted a young, yet full-sized, unicorn with limited powers. These powers will grow as its hit dice increase. Centaur templars cannot choose to have a mount as they are quadrupeds themselves.

Temples and Shrines

Most of Vydana’s temples are shared groves with druids of other nature gods. Her shrines are more numerous though. Most temples to Elys have a shrine to Vydana alongside a shrine to Gaia. Additionally, many wooded parks within cities house a shrine to Vydana.

Among the centaurs, they do not construct temples, but they do maintain shrines in wooded glades that are consecrated so that all within it feel a serene oneness with the forest. The centaurs made these glades as safe havens for travelers and many people who end up in one choose to camp there as it is a place of safety.
