Alva's rest: The autumn equinox is dedicated to Alva, as it is the time when summer is changing to winter. It is celebrated by giving gifts, making crafts out of the recent harvest, feasting, and sitting around fires to tell story's of ages past. It is thought that if you blow out a candle at the setting of the sun on this day, Alva will grant your hearts desire in the year to come.
The day of the moon: On this day, Embers moon comes nearest to the surface of the planet, growing to encompass a large portion of the night sky. This happens consistently every year in the month of Summerset between the 21 and 23 of the month, and is considered symbolic of the Twin Gods war on darkness and despair, showing that even during the darkness of the night, light can overcome. On this day the church organizes party's and feasts in honor of the Twin Gods.

Mental characteristics
It is believed that Alva and her brother, Tethyr, came to Ember with humanity when the Imperium shattered. It is believed that they left their home world in pursuit of Kozic, the god of corruption and degeneration. When they arrived, they found that whatever had allowed them access to Ember had disappeared, and they were stranded. They found Kozic and managed to imprison him, sacrificing their divine essence to do so. They then dedicated themselves to helping civilization flourish in this new and chaotic world that they and their people had found themselves in.
