Peedee River
The Peedee is a major river that borders the Caro Highlands and the Uwharrie Wastes. Its source begins deep in the Apps Mountains and it flows all the way to the Endless Ocean. The Peedee is known as a particular rough and speedy river, very much unsuited to river craft. In the mountains there are several small lakes and waterfalls, and even some rapids that prevent use of anything besides rafts or canoes. The river has also come to form the border between the nations of Populres and Recfrere, which has led to any crossings being vigilantly controlled. There are only two bridges over the Peedee, both with heavy fortifications on either side. One is located at the towns of Laracocha and Cheraaw, connecting the two in opposite nations. The other is a few miles north of the Recfreran fortress town of Santee.
