Ramilia
Ramilia is a small village on Jazirat Sihkria. The town emerged around a small shrine said to be the resting place of the primary djinn of the island. Eventually it was fortified and a garrison was stationed there to provide additional protection and coverage for the people who live on the southern portion of the land, providing a place for plantation owners and farmers to trade goods without having to head all the way to Cooperston.
Demographics
The town of Ramilia consists predominantly of Bahami humans, with a handful of catfolk slaves who tend to the town's exterior farms and community. Nonhumans and those who are not citizens of the Bahami Federation are not welcome within the walls of the town. Even those from other islands are not appreciated to visit without the express approval of the mukarrib.
Government
The town is ruled directly by the edits of the Mukarrib of Jazirat Sihkria. He occasionally appoints delegates and representatives to oversee his affairs and governance in the town, but for the most part, the inhabitants are allowed to act freely. Any matters of law or of a judicial dispute nature are typically referred to the courts in Cooperston, with a small jail and guard being present to hold any immediate offenders in Ramilia until they can be transferred by wagon or boat.
Defences
Ramilia has a wooden wall around it with a solitary gate that leads to the north. The town is fairly well protected by a detachment of twenty guardsmen sent from Cooperston to protect the city from small-scale raids and attacks. These forces mostly work towards enforcement of law, as the true defense of the settlement comes from the Shrine of Sisfod. The shrine is protected by various elemental guardians assembled by the djinn itself, protecting it from assault from outside invaders.
Infrastructure
Ramilia is not a major commercial hub and therefore only has a handful of small docks built for local fishermen and the occasional supply ship. The town itself has mostly dirt roads, with exception of the infrastructure developed around the Shrine of Sisfod, the place of primary reverence for the island's djinn. The shrine is the largest building in the town and the center of worship and culture. The roads around it are paved, and numerous statues and other decorations have been added to create a large garden path around the shrine and the surrounding homes and businesses.
Assets
There are few stores in Ramilia outside of the domestic marketplace and a handful of specialty shops. For the most part the town's economy only caters to local needs, and it is difficult to find any items of use to adventurers or travelers, as those types are discouraged from arriving in Ramilia in the first place.
