Sydney Littlefield
Lord Sydney Littlefield
Sydney Littlefield is the reigning lord of Port Maya and the surrounding towns of Refuge and Stiltown. He was born as the only child to his parents and was the indisputable heir to his house. He remained that way, having a healthy education and patronage while he aged, and spent ample time sailing upon Lake Okeechobee and hunting in the sawgrass plains. In time he was recruited as an officer into the Imperial Army due to his aristocratic position and rank.
His military service was fairly uneventful, never being assigned to any combat posts when combat was even occurring. He was mostly involved in assisted in preserving law and order in the Nasite regions, but gained a reputation among his peers as being soft on dissent and unrest. This gave him favor with the people he oversaw, but bred him enemies among his fellow officers in the Imperial Army. Sydney was quick to return home when his father became ill to take over.
As the current patriarch of House Littlefield, he assumed the title at age 30. He wed Adelaide Redgate from the city of Capcora a year letter, having met on one of his adventures to the city for leisure. He has spent most of his time with his wife, on vacations and overseeing a limited amount of affairs at home, but left most of the actual administration of his lands to his mother for nearly the full first decade of his marriage. Upon his mother's death, he only reluctantly took over full charge of his estate. For the most part he has proven a competent, unexciting leader, allowing the policies of benign neglect to continue. Under Imperial pressure, however, he has been financing a growth of infrastructure development, but he remains loyal to the original people of the land. The majority of his appointees are people he met while serving in the Imperial Army, either as comrades, or Nasites he found favor with. This continues to rub nerves back in the Imperial City, but as long as the region remains profitable, Sydney has been left alone.
