Sheriff Yapeih Zeikho

Yapeih Zeikho's family originally hailed from western Recfrere, but were driven off of their farm by a Mersan raid during the Opella War. Their farm was burned, and like so many others, they fled to Moultrie, a city well known for housing refugees of war. They ended up becoming tenant farmers on a local plantation, and herein Yapeih found opportunity for further education. Her family spared none of their remaining funds and enabled Yapeih's chance to be educated and learn the ways of the world.
Ultimately, Yapeih continued her education elsewhere, marrying one of her fellow students from those classes. Rather than taking up the hoe or sickle, she instead joined the Sheriffs of Moultrie, as an enforcer of the law. She received ample training from these experiences, learning the streets of Moultrie, and established a reputation for honor and fairness in dealing with criminals. Yapeih became known for being a good judge of character, knowing when to give a would-be criminal a break and when to haul someone in to prevent further crimes. 
Rising through the ranks of the Assembly of Sheriffs was easier said than done, and Yapeih faced plenty of internal oppositon with her more charitable policies, but she soon found a patron, Horudoh Bhahla,  a former fellow student who was a rising star among the people of Moultrie. With her support and a good working relationship, Yapeih gained popularity among the people of Moultrie. Despite the lack of popularity among her fellow law enforcement members, she was elected as the Sheriff of Moultrie in 1021, and used her position to also campaign for Horudoh's bid to become mayor.
As Sheriff of Moultrie, Yapeih has found many in the Assembly of Sheriffs to be intransigent towards her ideas of cooperation and collaboration with the mayors of Recfrere. She also has advocated for honesty and reform among Sheriffs, believing that corruption needs to be rooted out just as much as any other crime. This has led to multiple assassination attempts in recent years, and Yapeih these days is in a constant cloud of loyal body guards, many of whom are privately employed rather than being sheriffs themselves.
