Corellon Larethian, Father of Elvenkind

Oft mistaken by other peoples as the creators of the Elves, Corellon is the chief deity of the Elves on the Material Plane, and the leader of their journey to Endunia. Corellon is usually viewed as a god of warfare by the younger races, but his domain also encompasses magic, music, arts, crafts and poetry, all held in high esteem by the Elves. Before taking his place in the Outer Planes as a god, Corellon helped the fledgling eleven civilizations expand across Endunia, aiding them in war against the Orcs, Giants, Dragons, as well as extraplanar threats, like the Demons of the Abyss. Corellon was once married to Lolth, the evil goddess of the Drow, but the two were separated during the First War with the Orcs, when Lolth and the Elves became the Drow were lost in the Underdark. The two former lovers are now sworn enemies, with their respective peoples mirroring their enmity. Long before Corellon and the Elvish gods brought their people to Endunia, Corellon fought a duel with Gruumsh over which race would lay claim to the land. The duel ended in a stalemate, but Gruumsh lost an eye in the battle. Corellon is worshiped by the overwhelming majority of Elves as the foremost of all gods. While less chaotic than his Archfey forebears, Corellon’s actions often puzzle scholars; in one instant merciful and patient, in the other violent and prideful. Corellon usually manifests as an androgynous male elf, athletic and tall, with all the grace of his Elven followers. As a master swordsman, mage, musician and poet, people of many professions worship him, hoping to emulate the smallest fraction of his talent.
