Shar, Mistress of the Night
Twin sister to Selune, the moon goddess, Shar attempts to thwart all that her sister works towards, slaying her followers, tearing down her temples, and even attempting to slay the goddess herself. According to Human priests, their struggle predates even the creation of the other gods, the two waging war from the moment the universe was created. Shar delights in corrupting the Weave, the current of magic that courses through all of creation, and is a patron and ally to many foul mages. As the goddess of darkness, Shar revels in plots and deception, in heists and assassinations, in betrayals and revenge. Thieves’ guilds often pay homage to her, and assassins would benefit from gaining her favor. She stirs political upheavals and revolutions, caring not for the moral implications of such. Shar wishes to undo creation entirely, to return to the dark Void that she represents. Few mortals openly worship her, but many respect her power, and hidden cults devoted to her can be found in any place where darkness touches the hearts of mortals. She is usually depicted as a dark haired woman with purple eyes, hooded and cloaked in flowing black robes.
