Lord Markham

Duke of the western lowlands

At some point in the past, Lord Markham served under Queen Catherine in a war, and was rewarded for his work with a vase, he is a collector or rare historical items.

Emerald Island

Lord Markham arranged a scavenger hunt on Emerald Island, with the prize being Castle Harmondale, his property in The Contested Lands. He claimed that "It breaks my heart to part with this property, but I feel that the time has come for me to give something back to the people." In reality, Markham was eager to rid himself of the land, as it was the center of the conflict between AvLee and Erathia.

Tatalia

When the scavanger hunt on the emerald island was over, Lord Markham returned to his home in Tatalia with some adventurers that where willing to work for him. He sent them out towards Erathia to destroy the local thieves guild who he believed where trying to rob him. (In reality Markham knew that the Master Thief was spying on him, he was a thorn in his side and got in the way of his plans) When the adventurers succeeded he thanked them for their troubles and asked them if they where intrested in more work, he wanted them to retrieve a scroll from Fort Riverstride, he gave them a emblem so that they would be recognised as friends of the Erathian army, they went in and managed to retrieve the spell scroll but managed to anger the Erathian army on their way out.

Grand Plan

In reality Markham's grand plan was to assault Steadwick and retrieve their part of the Medalion of the Gates, an artifact said to be a key to open the Gateway of the Planes, a structure said to be able to open a portal to any plane you want, and intents to help his devil allies open a portal to their home planets. Markham has many agents scouting the lands for more pieces of the artifact and assassins sent after those who stands in his way, while he is amassing an army in Tatalia ready to strike at his enemies.....
