Keeping watch with my buddy Bob has left me with many thoughts. Remind yourself to thank the guy.
Good sort, that Rush. Doesnt seem to have a bad bone in his body. Just wants to help. It's.... comforting.
Seems Bob doesnt like these damp caves, find myself agreeing with him. As soon as we're done here, i will stop cursing at the sun and try to enjoy it for once. Perhaps find a nice pool and relax for a minute. Heavens know we've earned it.
Seems people are having bad dreams. Not used to the cold? Or is it the fact we're sleeping next to a corpse and 3 previously hostile people? ...I miss home. Where your enemies stand in front of you, fight with honor... Unless its that shithole Whitefang ofcourse. But i wouldnt even see him doing whatever this is... Slavery? Mind control? Indentured servitude? I hope these people can be helped. I am proud of myself for not treating them like common trash, proud my hunch paid off for once.
And the wizard and Erinon just took out the ensign like it was nothing. Was it all bluster? It doesn't feel right. Perhaps we have become stronger. Still doesn't feel right. They shouldn't have killed him. Pretty sure he's being used like all the others. We should tear the foundation that allows this evil down to the ground. If only we had an army... What if we could free these Justicar from their chains? What if...
We need to get Erinons friend. Perhaps there's some library or some place where we could find where she could be stationed.

Heh, the fire genasi impressed me today. Showed me some moves i haven't seen before. Never tell her that though. I will observe her for a while, get an understanding of her "dance". Should probably spar with her a few times to see what she's doing.

Our new companions (And Bob)
We were approached by a strange pair the other day. Offering to help us in our quest concerning the crimson chain.
Vandergrift Baldir. Strange fellow. A countryman. Havent heard that accent in some time. Part of that pirate's den. Wonder how Gerfast is doing these days. Things have been tense between Isustaya and him, but we managed to stay out of eachothers way.
For a wizard under a warlords command, he doesn't know his place in battle. Taking up the front line like some hero when we fought this boar creature. Wizards are frail, he should stay in the back. If i went into a frenzy and chopped it up, he would have died from the toxic fumes secreted from the creature. Ah well, not everyone can keep their heads on the battlefield i suppose.
He impressed me in the court though. Smooth tongue, talked the townsfolk out of 100 gold pieces. Let's hope he can use that wit in more dire circumstances.
Then there is Rush. What a character. He turned the boar into a squirrel. Asked me to hug it... Why in the world did i agree to such nonsense? It worked out in the end though. Turned out this boar wasnt out to kill us, it was just injured, leading us towards another clue as to where we might go next.
Also found out that Rush, besides talking to beasts, could also talk to plants. After slicing up some flesh eating plants for trying to eat me, we found out there is some big monster in between us, and the Rumbling Rocks. Can't wait to fight this creature. But first we must take some rest.
Oh, almost forgot the weirdest thing of the night. Rush also talked to my cactus. Apparantly his name is Bob, and he's a really cool guy. Guess ill keep him watered, and talk to him every now and then so he doesnt get lonely. Mmmh. I wonder if taking him from his brothers and sisters was ok. May have to bring him back at some point.
Anyway. Time for some sleep.
Finding a Fire Genasi
"Erinon found herself a cute little dark elf today. I think he's deaf (or pretending to be) but they seemed to hit it off in their little thief speak. Never saw Erinon like this. It's cute. Reminds me of the time Aurora took this boy home for her arcana training. Must have been embarrassing for her to see her dad give this poor kid a stern talking to. "Leave the door open at all times!" or "No inappropriate behaviour!"
Perhaps i should give this Melezio the same talk someday. Erinon can easily slice his balls off if anything inappropriate happens, true. But it won't hurt to give the dark elf a hint of warning."
"Took him to see this dead dwarven lady. They seemed to hit it off as Erinon did the whole priestly thing and had the lady leave this world in peace. I wonder what will happen in my death. Will i return to haunt the supremacy? Most likely will just turn to worm food."
"Didn't sleep too well in Deverels place. It was very kind of him to let us spend the night, but my mind kept traveling to the past. Wondering how my siblings are faring. Feeling bad as to how i left things with Incedis. Considered nabbing the necklace Violin gave us for some direct communication, pass along a message... But i wouldn't know what to say."
