The Sun Swords
The Sun Swords are an elite order of knights who serve The Kingdom of Aéredon. They are tasked with maintaining the King's order and justice throughout the lands. Considered the "King's Blades", the Sun Swords work tirelessly to uphold the laws. They are the arm of the law, and before they are knighted they must serve as Green Spears, in the army that makes up the bulk of the men-at-arms in Aéredon.
The current leader of the Sun Swords is an elf named Theren Stronglight.
Becoming a Knight of Aére
One who is fully devoted to the Oath of Aére, must be cleansed in the holy light of the Citadel at Baymont Fortress, and swear their allegiance to the King and to protecting the people of Aéredon, even to their dying breath. Being a Sun Sword, is one of the highest honors in the entire kingdom. Exceptional soldiers who have proved themselves are offered to make this oath, after finishing a grueling 2 year long training exercise, with extremely high washout rates. The Sun Swords spend their lives devoted to serving the people of Aéredon. They are stationed all over the land, often in pairs, a veteran mentor Guardian, and a young Bladeling, ready to take up the tradition and carry the torch forward to serve the realm.Hierarchy in the Sun Swords

Structure
The Green Spears
Often derogatorily referred to as "Green Spears" by veterans, the most common rank in army are the soldiers, which are usually common enlisted men who have agreed to serve the realm on a contract. In return for 6 years of service, they are provided food, training, clothes and a living allowance. Since it is a relatively peaceful time, many are uneasy of how strong the army truly is, due to it not being battle tested. These soldiers spend most days patrolling villages and roads, watching the streets of the cities, and checking Hero Identification Scrolls. Promoted soldiers with experience, or those who attend one of the schools make up the Officers Corps, who are in charge of the day to day affairs, advising various Lords and Nobles of the Kingdom, as well as patrolling various sectors of the Kingdom, in accordance with the delegated Guardians, who attend them, maintain peace and order in the land.Officer Corps
- Lord-At-Arms - the best of the Kingdom, usually past their prime in terms of combat efficiency, but more than capable in terms of moral and tactical guidance.
- Captain - grizzled veterans who have spent decades proving their grit and mettle to rise in their craft.
- Lance Officer - young officers, often from educational backgrounds who lack the experience to make the best tactical choices.
- Sergeant-At-Arms - the men with more combat experience make better leaders, and try to whip their underlings into shape.
- Corporal - these guards are a bit less excited, and more jaded by the common disputes and arguments they have to be called to respond to.
- Private - a bit more trained than recruits, Privates proudly wear their new uniforms and hold their spears with eagerness to prove themselves.
- Recruit - usually unarmed men, walking around keeping an eye on the common folk, reporting what they see.
