Lizardfolk

Lizardfolk are relatively the newest larger group to join the Korum Empire. Similar to humans, they arrived centuries ago, but not as mere explorers. The “Grand-kas”, as they call them, were the first to swim from the far southern continents as vicious raiders and pirates. The old Empire response was swift and equally harsh, turning Lizardfolk groups against one another until the only remaining groups were interested in a more peaceful life. Their keen senses and natural agility made them particularly effective trackers, hunters, and road-masters. While they still face a lot of prejudice, they have also found an odd kinship with the Orcs and Halflings alike. Lizardfolk once ranged in size and color and shape, but after the old Empire culling, they now only range within browns and greens and muted yellows. In rare instances, a hatchling has small, bright orange spots from nose to tail, called a Ka-Spirit, seen as a reminder of what was and what is. After joining the Empire, Lizardfolk living among Orcs and Halflings have been known to live nearly a century and a half, rarely losing their keen senses even into old age.
Adults are from small to large in size, have +1 AC due to their tougher scales, and have smaller, sharp teeth that can cause 1d4 + Str mod piercing damage. They have a natural connection to natural elements, giving them +2 Survival and +2 Stealth in the wild. Lizardfolk can swim at a 30 ft speed and hold their breath for twice as long as normal.
