Ballycay
The heart of Ballycay is a castle where the royal family lives, not far inland from Portalder. It is a massive structure surrounded by a huge, skirted outer curtain wall studded with towers that were built to withstand savage Jotunn. It began as a fort whose ownership changed repeatedly until an ancestor of King Cadence I, with the aid of allied dragons, took it for the last time. On the advice of the dragons, who like to call a nice barrow home, the ancestor (with help of knights and dragons possessing earth affinity) buried the fort, creating a motte and building a keep atop. The keep was made of stone, necessitated by being such close friends with fire (and other) breathing dragons. The motte was excavated upon completion to create homes for dragons that opened out to the baily (these were closed up during The Isolation, but were refurbished after The Release).
