Hakugosō Languages

Hakugosō is a language family comprising all of the tongues of the Hakushu, the Elves. As of the end of the First Age, there are some twenty languages extant. The most recent common ancestor language of all the extant languages of the Hakushu is referred to as Kubyakugo and was spoken within the last two millennia prior to the beginning of the First Age.   The language family is divided into two groups:   Hakugo, the High Elven language, despite having very little vocabulary descended from Kubyakugo, is considered the most widely spoken language of the family, as it serves as the administrative language of much of the peoples of Ausalon, be their Elf or otherwise.   Kagosō, the low languages, which comprises about nineteen languages spoken by the various Elven peoples of northern and western Ausalon.
