Session 8 Report

General Summary

After waiting until nightfall for Ace to appear you interrupted him in the middle of his performance by blowing up his undead audience. Ace then turned invisible and summoned more undead minions to keep you busy. After killing the undead and eventually managing to capture Ace you began to question him. He told you that his teacher, who went by the name 'Lead'. He attempted to bargain for his life with the information of where his master went, however once he tried to retrieve his instrument Buns, angry and distrustful of his intentions, killed him on the spot. The party took his instrument which seemed to be made out of bone, ivory, and sinew and reported to Guard Captain Brian, at first wary of the group bringing the dead body to them, after confirming their story he thanked the group and gave them 100g for their service, and asked them to see him at Madam Fortenesque's shop the next day to see what they could learn about the instrument.
The party took the instrument back with them to the Inn, Buns not trusting others with the necromantic instrument kept it himself. Buns decided to spend some time inspecting the Violin, and discovered it had a strong necromantic energy allowing the holder to cast a few spells, including necromantic ones, however he also discovered that in order to attune to it you either need to be a bard, or have proficiency with the instrument. That night however, Buns had nightmares of the undead constantly following him around, with spectral music playing. 
The next day upon arriving at the music shop you spoke to Madame Fortenesque, after she examined the instrument, she informed you that it was masterfully crafted, and that there was no way Ace would have been capable of this, informing you she believed it could be worth around 500g. Buns however, was determined to keep ahold of it himself, to ensure it is not used for its insidious purpose. Fortenesque also informed the party of a secretive group of Bards known as the college of Requiems, she also told you of a potential schism in the College, between the group to wanted to raise undead, and those who wanted to eradicate them.
