Quarr

Destroyed in the Jingre Earthquake - Quarr was West of the Kilt region along the road from Orc town of Slaven.    Population: Approximately 800 people; mixed Human, Halfling, Elf and Half-Elf. Quarr was governed by a mayor, a female dwarf named Nelhurh, famous for winning the prize of ‘Most unusual tasty flavour’ in the region’s pie making competitions.. It was a place travellers frequently past though. Everyone knew of The Yellow Piper Tavern, and the workshop called Yine’s clocks. On the road, from where the town of Quarr once stood, heading towards Kilt, the quakes caused the tipping over an old hornbeam birch tree. The hornbeam birch tree had stood for at least a hundred years. It was a landmark for travellers, yet it had grand a secondary purpose. The hornbeam birch had a secret. Beneath it's roots was a wide vain of solid amber. It was not a highly desirable mineral, so no one searched it out.  Inside the amber was trapped a Demon (known as Brem, later called The Burnt Resin), who had stayed there plotting his take-over of Esau.   The Yellow Piper Tavern It was kept by a retired Elf Druid named Atbun, who had a petting zoo of baby animals out the back (for sale at the right price). The question of what happened to the animals only came up much later.   Yine's Clocks The workshop of a male Gnome, excellent clock-maker named Yin, known for his elegant clockwork toys and detailed cuckoo clocks.      The ground first shook in the early dawn hours. It ripped new paths through the region of Jingre. For six long days the ground shifted. The first quake was also felt throughout the Eastern side of Malnax and over on the Northern Isle, even as far away as Tucalyos.
