Starfish Bane

Starfish Bane is a type of coral that is known to be found in the waters of Kutloc, especially in Shark Cove.


In the shade of the rocks in the sea grows Starfish Bane = an extremely sharp coral that is mainly found only in the bay known as Shark Cove ... beware of the sharks; especially the Dire Sharks - careful not to cut yourself!

Corals are animals, because they do not make their own food, as plants do. Corals have tiny, tentacle-like arms that they use to capture their food from the water and sweep into their inscrutable mouths.
Certain species of the stony corals have razor sharp edge, and Starfish Bane is the sharpest - it can easily cut a person's hand, knee, elbow or other part of the body. Cuts and scrapes from sharp-edged coral and barnacles tend to fester and may take weeks or even months to heal, if at all

USES

* Used by "Tokens" and members of Tenah to remove the bracelets put on by The Gamblers' Run.
* Designed into spear heads by Weaponsmith Cerise at The Metal Petal in the Labés Market Ward, for The City's current leader Kelt Hideheart

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Mainly found in Shark Cove on Kutloc, and has been found in the reefs - Rascal Reef, also Northern Reef on the East side of Fogi Island.

The Starfish Bane coral are ancient creatures, which is used as a weapon by the creatures from the Outlying Space known simply as Stars.
