Hygalix
Hygalix is a god associated with domination, vampirism, and the winter.
According to legend, Hygalix was an ancient king of Hygalis, who struck a bargain with Nergal and became the first vampire. Obsessed with ever greater forms of immortality, Hygalix later transcended to godhood. His worshippers hope that by appeasing him they can learn some of his secrets.
Hygalix is sometimes known as 'The Blood Drinker', 'The Ice Emperor' and 'The Father of Winter'.
Divine Domains
Hygalix's primary domains are Charm, Death, Luck and Water. His subdomains are Curse, Fate, Ice and Undead.
Holy Books & Codes
A tome supposedly penned by Hygalix himself called The Crimson Stepstones details some of his revelations en route to immortality. This forms a holy text of sorts used by his followers.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Hygalix is most frequently depicted as an opulent king in crimson robes. He is strongly associated with ice, snow, blood and bats.
His favoured weapon is the two-bladed sword.
Hygalix's mystic card is The Emperor, and his holy number is four.
Tenets of Faith
Followers of Hygalix believe that life is test of resourcefulness, and to die is to fail that test. The only way to avoid the horrors of the Void is to live forever. Exploiting those destined to die is natural and inevitable.
Holidays
Despite the name, the twelfth month, Hygaster, was not named in Hygalix's honour - it merely shares a naming root with the Hylachian word for 'winter'.
However, an association with the god Hygalix has since developed, and the month is known as the Month of Tyrants.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Hygalix's obsession is conquering death and escaping the ravages of time. The mastery of ever greater forms of immortality is his overriding concern.
