Council of Drakengard

The Council of Drakengard was established in the wake of the Dracomachy and the Doomfall Cataclysm. As the newly constructed dwarven stronghold of Drakengard was just taking form, a ruling committee was devised to help guide the city and lead in its protection and prosperity. The council consists of one representative from each of the great dragon hunting houses of Drakengard. In addition, to recognize the alliance forged between the dragon hunting houses and the Hallowed Men, as well as recognize the accomplishments of the Order of the Great Wyrm during the Dracomachy, the current leader of the Hallowed Men of Drakengard maintains a seat upon the council. The final member of the ruling body is dubbed the Dragonkeeper and is elected to oversee the council and ensure the alliances between each house are always in the best interest of the city.

Goals

The Council of Drakengard is charged with the protection and prosperity of its city. Led by the Dragonkeeper, the council seeks to maintain harmonious relationships between the city’s various dragon hunting houses. In addition, the Council of Drakengard works to prevent the influence of groups like the Children of the Fallen and the Cult of the Dragon in their pursuit to release the Fallen gods from their celestial prison, particularly the Dragon Queen Tiamat.

Relationships

The council maintains healthy relationships with the storm giant capital of Maelifdar and the dwarven city of Nogaakaz’ad. As the sole legislative and executive body of the city, the Council of Drakengard makes a strong effort to preserve the alliances that helped to defeat Tiamat and her chromatic dragon hoard, so many years ago. The council keeps a direct line of communication with the storm giants of Maelifdar, with both the council and the giant kingdom employing the use of diplomatic envoys in each respective city. The storm giants were quintessential to the victory over Tiamat and her minions during the Dracomachy and ever since then, the two settlements have enjoyed a strong trade partnership. Furthermore, the Council of Drakengard works to uphold strong diplomatic relationships with the various free cities of Eldamir and has committed itself to coming to the aid of any people that are threatened by evil dragons.
