King Sigrid Stenfist Thurum
Sigrid Thurum is the reigning King of Kaz Thurum. The oldest of his siblings, he took the throne over 80 years ago and has seen the kingdom through a time of great change, both politically and industrially. Conservatives have thrown their ire at the man, but most of the population are thankful for his reforms as they have led to the kingdom staying relative when it was fearing a decline.

Personal history
Sigrid was the second eldest born child of the previous king, but was made heir to the throne after his elder sister died in a mining accident beneath the halls of the kingdom. He himself lost an eye in the accident and he was unable to save his sister. Now heir to the throne, his father wanted him taken out of the mines where he worked among the people, but he refused in order to show that the royal family was not above working the dangerous jobs that their people must do.
The accident had a strong impact on Sigrid, who throughout his life worked to make the mines safer and reduce how much the kingdom relied on extracting ore from the mountain. Eventually, at age the age of 245, he was finally made king after his father died. Over his now 80 year reign, he has changed how the halls conducts its business with the world, focusing more on crafting with the reserves that they have than extracting and refining more raw material to be sold to the world. The mines still dig deep into the ground, deeper than ever before to search for only the most lucrative of metals, something that many have began to warn against.
Kaz Thurum has been seen as a strong and dependable leader, one that understands his people and has led all into prosperity. He has also opened up dwarvish society to other races, allowing all to enter the kingdom and make their home here if they have the skills required.
