The Grove
The Grove is a small nation at the base of The Valley of Song. With territory set over a tranquil forest with very little in the way of danger or threats, this nation has existed peacefully since its original creation many years ago.
Structure
The Grove has little in the way of government, with villages and towns having elected Mayors that all meet in a single parliament to discuss state affairs.
Culture
The people here are tinkerer's and bards, a laid back life of experimentation and relaxation. They believe in enjoying life and respecting each other, it's a very equal society with only a small disparity between wealth classes.
Public Agenda
Very little in the way of change happens here, with more of a focus on the little things like fixing a hole in the road or dealing with pesky foxes.
History
The Grove has existed for many years, deep within a fairly naturally defended area of the continent. Thanks to its rolling hills and thick wood, it made a great place for a group of halflings and gnomes to call home. Ever since, things have been relatively quiet here in the grove. They stay out of international incidents and don't cause a problem. When Margot eventually arrived to conquer the land, he was struck by its beauty and ordered his army to stay behind as he himself went to the capital to demand their early surrender. When he showed them the power of the lance, they did so without question.
Ever since the fall of the empire, they have continued their lives of peace and tranquillity, though with a new small standing army to defend themselves in the event of someone trying to push them over once more.
Demography and Population
The population consists mostly of Gnomes, Halflings and other small races. They live in small hamlets spread out across the entire area, with the one population hot spot being found on the shores of the lake: the town of Hearth.
Foreign Relations
The Grove has a strong relationship with their neighbouring countries, being seen as not a threat but a country of strong minds. The Dwarves of Kaz Thurum especially respect the tinkerer's of the Grove, many of whom have worked with the dwarves in their halls on new technologies.
Agriculture & Industry
Possibly the biggest export in the Grove is its Agriculture, there are hundreds of farms across the country and many produce more food than they can sell within their local hamlets or nearest town. Food is mostly bought up by Kaz Thurum, who lack the ability to produce much food on their own.
They are also a producer of many new forms of technology which are bought up and sent across the continent.
Infrastructure
Dirt paths link up the many hamlets around the country, with one main stone road leading to the highway that spans across the continent. Every hamlet tends to have strong infrastructure for their small size, some even having sewer systems.
