Halfling

  • +1 Dexterity, –1 Strength.
  • Small: As a Small creature, a halfling gains a +1 size bonus to Armor Class, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, and a +4 size bonus on Hide checks, but she uses smaller weapons than humans use, and her lifting and carrying limits are three-quarters of those of a Medium character.
  • Halfling base land speed is 20 feet.
  • +2 racial bonus on Climb, Jump and Move Silently checks.
  • +1 racial bonus on all saving throws.
  • +2 morale bonus on saving throws against fear: This bonus stacks with the halfling’s +1 bonus on saving throws in general.
  • +1 racial bonus on attack rolls with thrown weapons and slings.
  • +2 racial bonus on Listen checks.
  • Automatic Languages: Common and Halfling. Bonus Languages: Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Goblin, and Orc.

Biological Traits

  • Fire-Foot

    A fire-foot halfling does not actually have fire feet or anything that would help them resist fire damage. The name comes from an old legend from when a halfling held Blerda’s ring of fire. The fire-foot halflings tend to be more feral or wild than their Short or Stout cousins.

  • Short Hair

    As a short hair halfling, you can easily hide from notice, even using other people as cover. You’re inclined to be affable and get along well with others. Short hairs are more prone to wanderlust than other halflings, and often dwell alongside other species or take up a nomadic life.

    • +1 Charisma
    • +2 racial bonus hide checks, can attempt to hide even behind a creature one size larger than you.
  • Stout As a stout halfling, you’re hardier than average and have some resistance to poison. Some say that stouts have dwarven blood.
    • +1 Constitution
    • +2 racial bonus Saving throws vs poison, half damage on a failed save, no damage on passed.
