Fairies

The Feywild is home to many fantastic peoples, including fairies. Fairies are a wee folk, but not nearly as much so as their pixie and sprite friends. The first fairies spoke Elvish, Goblin, or Sylvan, and encounters with human visitors prompted many of them to learn Common as well. Infused with the magic of the Feywild, most fairies look like Small elves with insectile wings, but each fairy has a special physical characteristic that sets the fairy apart. Fairies were created by the green hag Gildenglanz, one of the twelve High-hags of Halenheim. As she always was bored she abducted some humans and elves, cursing them to shrink and have insectoid forms. Gildenglanz often used them as toys for entertainment and as snacks when she felt hungry. Tivill the brave, one of the first fairies, managed to break free and take some of his comrades with him establishing small communities inside the Feywild. When the Feywild and the material plane crashed into each other, even more Fairies managed to slip away from the hags pointy claws and found a home in the woods of the material plane. They hoped to find new communities far away from the Isle of Halenheim, an Island conquered and ruled by the magocracy of the 12 High-hags.
