Session 4: Downfall and the Soggy Court

General Summary

The party's boat glided into the village of Downfall, where they were promptly greeted by several bullywugs donning soiled nobleman attire and speaking with exaggerated noble accents. They quickly ushered the party to meet King Gullop XIX. En route, they traversed a bridge displaying the severed heads of Downfall's former kings and encountered the young Clapperclaw, who offered to guide them to Thither in exchange for assistance in retrieving his head, which Agdon had pilfered and presented to a hag. King Gullop was delighted to welcome Laila, the Queen of the Monarchs, to his court. He requested the party return a book to Bavlorna, fearing her wrath. The party consented, enticed by the promise of a grand party and buffet. King Gullop XIX advised that Bavlorna would only converse with delegates from the soggy court, necessitating a wardrobe change into courtly attire available at his manor. There, they discovered Morgort, a jailed bullywug knight facing execution for aiding Sir Talavar's escape. A gift of a yellow mushroom secured Morgort's allegiance to Queen Laila. Subsequently, the party visited Trinket, Bauble, and Charm's, where Lenard exchanged his eye color for a magical moonlight monocle, rendering his vision colorless. At the king's manor, Barthalamew the crocodile assisted them in donning regal finery. Lenard was clad in a tattered red nobleman's coat marred with mud, Laila in a dress featuring a black and yellow striped skirt and a vivid pink top adorned with a lily pad over her crown, and Puddles in a dress pieced together with blotches of black ink. It was then they realized Agdon had vanished, and realized they would have to continue to the hags cabin without him...
