The ruling Government of Mevius as a theocracy the King rules above all else ,but is decided by the pope and can be removed/replaced at any point by the church although no member of the church is allowed to be king, church and state are closely connected with large amount of discussion happening through the two groups to decide law and course of action. all Mevlovan guards are considered to be under the crowns control further more the crown has the right to remove noble status impose law throughout Mevius and collect taxes, there duties are to protect king and country from both internal and external dangers, they get there orders from the king and his men; these men include generals tax collectors governors and nobility. nobility have guards they hire and pay but under the current law are considered to be under employment to the king so if the nobility where ordered contradictory orders from there noble and the king they should follow the king. orders from the king take many forms direct orders are rare, most orders are from his advisors who have a "deep understanding of the royal mind" and hence can give orders on the kings behalf, false orders given by the king is considered treason and is punishable by death although depending on the circumstances other punishments may be used instead such as forced retirement or vacation to fines on gold land or other amenities.   The crown is made from a large mix of people from the corrupt and wise to the noble and stupid, there status has no influence on there physical or magical capabilities all though higher ups tend to not survive long if unable to protect themselves from assassins or rivals. strong individuals tend to keep there strength counseled as there strength makes them a threat and hence a target for assassination's and no matter how strong the individual there is a cost that can make them dead.
