King Johann Ladner III

King of Rivenar Johann Carl Ladner, III (a.k.a. King Ladner)

King Johann Ladner III is the present Day Ruler of the Kingdom of Rivenar and ruler of the fertile valley lands sandwiched between the Southern Frostrill Mountains and the Morrburough Highlands and as far south as the Stoneshale River. King Johann Ladner III is the 4th generational ruler under the Ladner Name. He was crowned King in the Winter of 2951 After His Father Johann Ladner II was slain at the Battle of the Mossy Steppe. King Johann Ladner III assumed the Crown at 28 years of age after seeing his father fall at the battle of Mossy Steppe and suddenly finding himself having to Rally Rivnar's Forces that were nearly routed after seeing his father fall to 3 Black Orc Arrows.   Before the Fateful Day, Johann Ladner III had the Typical privileged life of the son of a king. Being Educated by Rivnar's Finest Scholars, attendance of court and royal proceedings, Hunting, and Riding Trips, But perhaps his strongest pursuit was in martial training. Johann Ladner III wanted to be a Warrior King like his Father and Johann Ladner III vowed to be better than his father. His father King Ladner II was known to be Brash and a bit overconfident which is believed contributary to his untimely death at the battle of Mossy Steppe.   Before his Coronation Johann Ladner III was an astute communicator he learned well from seeing his father's Brash and often hasty decisions both, on and off the battlefield. He saw how his father's impulses would easily draw the Ire of the Nobles and the Council of Lords. Johann Ladner III learned to be very observant and listen intently before speaking. He often worked behind King Ladner II's back to mend or at least hold bridges his father would try to burn in dealing with the Noble Council.   Johann Ladner III was much more diplomatic and had a convincing charm about himself despite his rugged appearance. Many Nobles tried bringing their Daughters to court in hopes that this Prince in line to be king would choose their Daughter to be his wife, so many suitors since the age of 18 Ladner III enjoyed the attention but up to the day his father died, he did not take a wife. Johann Ladner III lost his mother Queen Adrianna Ladner to a mysterious Disease at the age of 17 he was very close to his mother and attributed his skills in observation and listening to her. On her Deathbed, she asked him to watch after his father and help him maintain the confidence of the Rivenar Noble Council. For the sake of the Kingdom, she pleaded with Johann to do this.   Two years after his Coronation in 2953 King Johann Ladner III Married Lady Carolien Manstien of Riverden who was 19 years old when they married. In 2963 Johann and Carolien had a Daughter Elianna Ladner and then another Daughter Loweina Ladner in 2967 They gave Birth to their Son Konrad Ladner in 2970. Elianna is now 18, Loweina 15, and Konrad 11 years of age.   King Johann Ladner III is still a very active Ruler at 58 Years old and his wife Carolien 47 they Hold court as is tradition at the end of Every Season and have done an Extraordinary thing by being the first king and Queen  to Hold two Special Court gatherings where petitioning Guilds, Craft Folk, and Commoners can attend and speak their concerns to the King and council of the lords.
