Andrala

Sitting at the adjoining point of two tributaries of the Meseline River, Andrala has been the capital of Awn for centuries. The large city consists of 6 districts: The Pauper's District, Old Town, The Low Front, The Merchant's Quarter, The High Front and The Noble Estates.

The Pauper's District

Consisting mainly of poor folk, this district is a centre for laborous and 'lower class' jobs: Labouring, Fish Gutting, etc. While commonly viewed as the ass-end of the city, its utility and necessity for the city's function is unquestionable.   The Pauper's district makes up the southend of the city, across the river from the rest of the settlement.

The Bulwark

The Bulwark is a defencive fortification added onto the exterior wall of the south-west portion of the pauper's district. It consists of seven external towers connected to the existing towers along the wall. It serves to add aditional protective measure to the flatter plainsland that the wall faces; a prime target to siege.

Old Town

Andrala's humble beginnings lie in the old town, the original square where the city's trade took of centres the district with its venerable buildings and roads. The district is the cultural centre of Andrala, but it's small dockfront still offers some utility outside of simple commercial trade.

The Low Front

As Andrala's populace and riches expanded, so too did the need for housing outside the established walls. Thus, in a huge expansion effort, the second oldest district of Andrala was built. The Low Front is where most of the common folk live, trade and work. It is by far the area with the highest traffic and is mainly considered the 'storefront' of the city.

The Merchant's Quarter

As Andrala became one of the most popular cities in Awn, their tourism and trade skyrocketed. There were so many people wanting to establish permanent situations in the city that they themselves organized the second expansion effort, creating the Merchant's Quarter.

The High Front

While the common folk of the lower-middle class live in the Low Front, the High Front is home to the middle-upper class of andrala. Often rich and snobby, these folk usually take keen interest in matters that could earn them a pretty rose .

The Meseline Collage of Magic

At the side of the river where the flat land meets cliff face, a four story tower stands. This is the Meseline College of Magic, the main area of arcane research in the Meseline Archduchy . It works in conjunction with various schools across Meseline and also with establishments in Mart.

The High Adventist's Church

In the shadowed corner of the High Front stands the High Adventist's Church. A majectic -by churchly standards- place of worship for those most dedicated to Adventism . It remains largely empty, however, as most of the folk in the High Front tend to prefer worshipping at the High Cathedral among the noble estates.

The Noble Estates

Needing somewhere for the governance and rulership of the town to reside, the clifftop area between the two tributaries seemed a good place to build the High Palace of Awn. Surrounding it are the higher nobles whose families had a big part to play int he city's fame. It is also home to the Andrala Grand Cathedral; the centre of Dawn worship in Awn.
