Fruitful Caravan

Leaders

Fruitful Scrupulence

Leader of the caravan, a Guild trader who finds his official title of "Merchant Prince" over-grand. Husband of Straight Cedar

Straight Cedar

The animal trainer responsible for the Yeddim. Husband of Fruitful Scrupulence

Yan Big-Nose

Guard-Captain, a veteran of the Lookshy Field Forces. Has fought against Haltan soldiers and some minimal knowledge of the place (though he's never been).

Drenlar

God of the caravan, a transparent man shape outlined in light. Can leave with two days notice, as he reminds everyone. Chatty and inquisitive, very interested in discussing "purpose", wants to understand what peoples' are, which usually involves them improving their understanding themselves.

Animals

by Christopher Stevens

Tree-Ripper

A bull Yeddim who seems to enjoy breaking trail

Rockcrusher

A sow Yeddim.

Thunderer

A younger sow Yeddim

Grooms

Wrela

Yeddim handler

Tun-Tun

Yeddim handler

Wingark Panola

Hired in Kajeth along with two san-herons that act as messengers and sometimes scouts for the caravan. Was previously employed by Hollow Sendis who still owns the birds

Guards

Chak

Guard, armed with straight sword and shield. Professional guard, but without the discipline of a soldier. Has mostly worked on Guild ships. Fairly direct. Nightshade and he are the only original guards remaining with the caravan, which is starting to worry him - but he's seen that Scrupulence has treated the injured well.

Nightshade

Lynxfolk guard and scout. In practical terms now Big-Noses second in command

Lyris

Guard hired in Oakhollow to replace Scrub Rider. Seems subject to heavy mood-swings, sometimes pushing and inspiring the caravan to heroic deeds, sometimes so quiet as to be ignorable.

Haltans

A group of Haltan ex-soldiers hired in Kajeth after Rushes in a Pond was injured and Fruitful Scrupulence realised how dangerous Halta could be. They have clearly worked together before and act well as a tight-knit team, stand-offish but not hostile. All have classic Haltan features: bronze skin, high cheekbones and green hair, and are armed with long knives and iron-wood throwing sticks, wearing a buff coat made from a strange fibre.

Iktan

Woman who has done nothing but her job so far.

Cualli

She has woken screaming in the night at least once so far, something to do with what she saw in Fallen Lapis.

Yatzil

Also a woman who has interacted meaningfully only with her team so far.

Cabrakan

The only man in the team, his thousand-yard stare is worrying but does not seem to have impacted his ability to do his job.

Sacniete

The most outgoing of the team and the most willing to co-operate, but that is strictly grading on a curve. She has a scaled bird companion (a san-mospid) she calls "Teary".

Staff

Tulka Prin

Cook. Very happy with the trip so far since Nightshade is supplementing their stores by hunting and Bertrum has created a pressure cooker that (after some practice) has made cooking easier and faster.

Ydaan

Body servant to the two Guildfolk.

Finaer Ram

Servant. Father of Dawnlight and Swiftknife. Professionally trained storyteller who takes no joy in it. Was kidnapped by Fair Folk but rescued.

Finaer Dawnlight

Servant, daughter of Ram and sister of Swiftknife. Was kidnapped by Fair Folk but rescued.

Finaer Swiftknife

Servant, son of Ram and brother of Dawnlight.

Bertrum Blumenthal

A savant hired as a repairman but is now increasingly involved in the decisions about the caravan's plans

Past Members

Scrub Rider

Guard, armed with a slashing sword and mounted on a horse. Injured badly in a Hatra attack along with his horse before reaching Halta. Recuperating in Oakhollow.

Rushes in a Pond

Guard, armed with a self bow and a long knife. Injured by a hobgoblin when the caravan was attacked by the Chevalier of the Fifth Harmony. Recuperating in Kajeth
