Personal history
Born in a small, prosperous village located between the tal'dorei empire and the protectorate duchy of Kymal, at age 5 her life was destroyed when the armies of Lord Pendergast, the noble responsible for a dozen villages and more farms, switched allegiance in a brief conflict between the duke and Tal'dorei.
She was captured and made a camp follower, her mother was killed by Lord Pendergast himself, her family was slain, her brother was conscripted and died in combat. The goat herds were slain or stolen. She was taken as a prize by Lord Pendergast a few years later. The army had been moving about the land, hired by the empire of Tal'dorei for defense against the belligerent duke
At this time she took the opportunity to respond to whispers in the back of her mind from unseen force - she killed the lord, and burned his command tent with herself in it. The same voice guided her to safety and she found acceptance in a secret cult of Tharzidun, the chained oblivion.
The army was attacked at the very moment she killed him, and found itself in disarray. It was a total loss on the part of the forces of Tal'dorei, and the minor regional conflict of the last decade erupted into a full war (a "civil war" by the history books written in Emon). Her village, her family, and her friends were so unimportant to the world that no map bore the villages name, and only a handful of people know it ever even existed.
After bouncing from cult to cult, in service to one dark god or another being devoured on two occasions, she found herself in service to Slarkrathel and then Ailwin after a botched assassination mission. Ailwin bound her as a familiar and as far as she is concerned, she is a slave yet again. Ailwin lets her more or less do whatever she wants, but they have a baby together and Ailwin has a lot of money so she doesn't see a reason to go anywhere.

Saw her family killed at age 5, taken against her will as a commander's property at age 14, killed many and even was killed on several occasions. She has had two children that she sacrificed to the Kraken Slakrathel and a third with Ailwin.

Ailwin took ownership of "Rina" from Slarkrathel. Stripped of her memories, Rina was a murderous psychopath, and was shaped into a familiar using an ancient ritual of The Moonweaver. Over time, her memories have come back since the ritual, and she remembers her dark past and her name - Jianna. She bore a daughter to Ailwin named Syndra.
