Rexxentrum Plot

A City in Ruin

  Toppled towers lean their crooked frames against crumbling walls of wood and stone. The charred remains of homes rise like the rib bones of a decayed leviathan. The immediate threat of a rampaging dragon has been thwarted, but the city around you still bares the waning embers, filling the air with smoke and the barking of dogs run wild. Of other people you hear little. They are either dead or have fled. The wind through these hollow structures wheezes like the last breaths of a dying man, carrying the stench of death and ash.   Shimmer Ward   You find the silence in this quarter of the city unsettling. Ruined buildings loom high on all sides, their windows and doors agape in seeming astonishment at their own destruction. A great calamity littered the roads and alleys with rubble from fallen roofs and collapsed walls. Soot stains the stone of buildings gutted by fire.     Citizens of the city who lost their homes, which were most, along with refugees have began to move to both Hupperdook and Zadash Now having to fear from an ever encroaching war.

  • King Dwendel evacuated to Zadash along with 5,000 guard
  • Zivan Margolin has not been seen since the attack
  • Kanathor, the Scaled Tyrant remains by the Chantry

The Heart of Vespin lies in the personal chambers of Headmaster Zivan Margolin The Veil of Cerlic is kept in the re purposed dungeons underneath the academy   The party will have to attempt to steal them if they wish to get them.

Actions

Multiattack The dragon can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its Bite and two with its Claws.
Bite Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 2d10+8 piercing damage plus 2d6 fire damage.
Claw Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2d6+8 slashing damage.
Tail Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 15 ft., AOE. Hit: 2d8+8 bludgeoning damage.
Frightful Presence Each creature of the dragon's choice that is within 120 ft. of the dragon and aware of it, must succeed on a DC 19 Wisdom Saving Throw or become Frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the Saving Throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's Saving Throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is Immune to the dragon's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.
Fire Breath (Recharge 5-6) The dragon exhales fire in a 60-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 21 Dexterity Saving Throw, taking 18d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

Legendary Actions

The adult red dragon can take 3 Legendary Actions per turn, which replenish at the start of its turn. These can only be taken at the end of another creature's turn, only one at a time.

Detect The dragon makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.
Tail Attack The dragon makes a Tail attack.
Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions) The dragon beats its wings. Each creature within 10 ft. of the dragon must succeed on a DC 22 Dexterity Saving Throw or take 2d6+8 bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The dragon can then fly up to half its flying speed
