Wildemount

Wildemount is the larger of the two continents in Eastern Exandria, to the east of its smaller counterpart of Tal'Dorei.   The sprawling continent is divided into multiple unique natural geographic locations by mountain ranges. To the west, the wild and tropical Menagerie Coast sprawls the length of the continent, with vast areas of the north covered by the untamed Lushgut Forest and Cyrios Mountains and the southern reaches controlled by the maritime confederacy known as the Clovis Concord. These areas vary from savage and inhospitable jungle such as Quoraska in the south to idyllic fishing villages and tiny archipelago settlements. Piracy is rife in the Lucidian Ocean between the continents, though trade continues unabated despite the cutthroats hailing from Darktow.   On the eastern side of the Cyrios Mountains and making up the mainstay of the continent lay the Zemni Fields across the north and west of the Dwendalian Empire, while the Marrow Valley shelters vast farmlands and plains. Areas such as Felderwin Tillage and Blumenthal supply the vast metropolitan areas dotting the Empire, notably the capital Rexxentrum, Zadash in the south and Nogvurot guarding the northern passes. While spared the general inhospitability of some areas of the continent, the sheer size of the area combined with political upheaval stretches peacekeeping forces thin and makes for rich grounds for criminal organisations such as the Myriad.   Further east again and beyond the Ashkeeper Peaks and Dunrock Mountains lay the diverse and misunderstood Wastes of Xorhas, home to the many races that form the Kryn Dynasty. This area contains plenty of open vistas such as the Iothia Moorland in the South and the plains flanking the Ifolon river between the cities of Asarius and Jigow further north, but more famous are the blasted wastelands of the Barbed Fields outside the capital Rosohna and the unforgiving Brokenveil Marsh serving as a natural barrier with the Dwendalian Empire. Further still beyond the titanic rock and obsidian shards of the Penumbra Range lies the Miskath Strand, known colloquially as Blightshore. This forsaken land holds very little civilisation, wracked as it is with wild magics, stalked by extraplanar aberrations and haunted by the ghosts of doomed settlements. Beyond the city of Rotthold and the staging ground of New Haxon in the south, very few brave the mists and ruins that make up the eastern coast of the continent.   Encompassing the North lies the Greying Wildlands, home to the Diarchy of Uthodurn but otherwise very little hospitable land. The mountains of the Flotket Alps stretch for hundreds of miles, though the flatter areas of the Rime Plains and Crystalsands Tundra don't present much more of a welcome to travellers. Beyond this, the frozen archipelago of Eiselcross is home to wilderness, glaciers and fanged or frozen death. While the discovery of the Aeor Crash Site on the main island of Foren has led to academic interest necessitating the establishment of several outposts, many of the outer islands have barely had a foot set upon them, shrouded as they are in blizzards in the case of Schneescel, or home to dragons like the northernmost island of Biessel.
