The All-Consumer
(a.k.a. The Shattered One)
Before the Divergence, before the apothesis of the Raven Queen, the god of death ravaged the peoples of Exandria. Rather than shepherd the souls of the dead, he preferred to consume them, reveling in the power they gave him. Countless innocents were torn asunder to feed his endless hunger, and as tensions between the gods escalated toward war, his power only grew. In an effort to save her people, a mortal mage invoked the Rite of Ascension, draining all light and life from the Dawnlands to ascend to godhood. Then, taking hold of the Raven Blade, she slayed the god of death, shattering his heart and taking his place as the new Matron of Death. She became known as the Raven Queen, and her domain, the sundered Dawnlands, was called the Shadowfell.
Unfortunately, it takes much more effort to kill a god.
When she destroyed his heart, the shards rained across Exandria like falling stars. Over the next several hundred years, these shards have slowly regenerated power by whatever means they could manage. One shard fell to Blightshore, which it has since twisted into a dark, unstable image of its former beauty. One shard landed in Xhorhas, where it now consumes the souls of unborn children as they are replaced with souls consecuted by a Luxon beacon. One landed in the Lucidian Ocean, where even now it wreaks havoc beneath the waves.
These shards are drawing together, influencing weak-willed and power-hungry individuals to refuel and rejoin them into one heart. If they succeed, the All-Consumer will be restored. For the first time since the Whispered One's ascension, a god will exist on the mortal side of the Divine Gate...and he will be out for blood.

Divine Goals & Aspirations
Although at one time the All-Consumer may have cared for the dead, that time is long past. Obsessed with power and driven mad by his destruction, the Shattered One cares only for two things: restoring himself to his former glory and destroying the usurper who took his place. Once that is accomplished, he will return once more to the greatest joy in his life, which is to sow death across the Material Plane and consume the souls death feeds him.
