Duci Leese
The Duci Leese is the Head of the Mountain Star religious order and is also therefore Head of State of Batan which is the holy lands of the Mountain Star Religion.
The Duci Leese resides in the Looreese Monastery but may travel around to different monasteries periodically. When this does occur the travelling caravan usually has about 500 people in the travelling group.
Qualifications
It is unclear what selecting criteria the Mountain Star Organisation uses to select the Duci Leese but it is generally decided by a search committee and then recommended to the "Council of 40" for final ratification.
Requirements
The Duci candidate needs to be a female in her teenage years and from a family with years of practice to the Mountain Star. Once she is chosen she is educated to the highest level in church doctrine.
Appointment
The new Duli Leese child is chosen for the role after the death of the previous Duli Lees after an extensive search for the chosen child. It is not known exactly how they choose the female child Duli Leese however once she is chosen at about the age of 15 years, the enthronement ceremony takes 6 months to complete. The Enthronement has 6 main parts to the festival with each being conducted a month apart.
Duties
Attending morning Rituals. Assigning members of the "Council of 40". Greeting foreign delegations. Setting church doctrine and setting the overall direction of the Mountain Star organisation.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Mountain Star and the promotion of the religion. Head of the Judiciary and Head of Government for Batan. Overseeing the religious rites and the upkeep of tradition.
