A cleric of Cyric named Mulahey and his kobold minions contaminate the iron mines outside of Nashkel, leading to the Iron crisis that plagued the Sword Coast in the same year.
The Iron Throne poisons the major iron mines in The Sword Coast, steal untainted iron from along the coast and drive rival trading companies into financial ruin. This was to ensure they would have a monopoly on the iron trade, with the last major iron mine in their possession. Their plans were ruined by a group of adventurers and the Bhaalspawn, who restored the poisoned mines and ended the Iron Throne organization.
Elturel, capital of Elturgard, is saved from being swallowed into The Nine Hells by The Hero's of Elturgard. The story of the cities assent became that of legend as The Hero's of Elturgard dispersed and went their separate ways.
In response to to the killing of an Amnian guard by Nashkelians rebelling against the occupying forces, executions of Nashkelians suspected of attacks against army horses began in the spring and would escalate to the enslavement, torture, and killings of some 10,000 Nashkelians.
Nashkel is liberated from Amnian forces by Reina Arvinva and a force of Mercenaries, some armed with muskets, attacking as the sun rose from the east. Reina is celebrated and named the Maid of Nashkel.
Evan Ghastkill the 3rd and Reina Arvinva agree to work together to ensure the independence of Nashkel. The Agreement also officially named the territory on a hill north of Nashkel Rei, in honor of Reina.
Fleeing instability in Elturgard, refugees move into areas around Nashkel with the promise that they will find jobs in the area.
New inventions and innovations in the Territory surrounding Nashkel begins an unprecedented increase in agricultural production. This increase in food supply contributed substantially to the rapid growth in Nashkel and Rei. This increase in productivity continues to rapidly grow to the present day and continues to lead to a decline in the agricultural labor force, adding to the urban work force.
Industrialized farm work decreases the amount of people needed on the fields, as factory work begin providing new opportunities many move into the city to find work.
Oscarites, named for a famed rebel Oscar Nebel who would leave signed notes on pieces of factory equipment he broke, gather and rebel against factory owners and industrialists. The rebels dispersed after a month of fighting due to disunity within the Oscarites.
Amnian forces once again marched on the Greenfields to reclaim Nashkel and expand North of The Cloud Peaks. Battles between Nashkel and Amn raged on for three years, forces led by Reina Arvinva armed with guns and a construct named Protector built by Reina changed the normal flow of warfare. However the Amnian forces, with more experienced generals and more men, won battles across the Greenfield. All seemed lost as the Amnian forces marched upon the city of Nashkel in 1505, however the tide would turn as The Last Stand of the Greenfields and the battles following it saw a string of victories and the surrender of Amn in the peace of 1506. Reina was given a slew of new titles, and the Greenfields would remain free of Amnian rule.
Balthier Lightning and his close associates's factories begin producing Iron and Chemical Solutions. L.A.C. would build out in the following years, adding a private research facility and more factories to its compound.
Lantanese Refugees Fleeing Lantan accept an invitation to settle in Rei.
Every district in Rei, excluding Old Nashkel, form new domestic police forces to combat increasing crime and domestic unrest in the districts of Rei. Over the police and at the direct command of the cities Autocrat are R.I.S.A, ensuring the safety and stability of Rei from non-magical and magical phenomena. They serve so that all threats to Rei, from demonic avatars to secret covens, are securely contained and dealt with.
The territories surrounding Nashkel are officially placed under the Autocrat of Rei, Reina Arvinva.
Ties between Rei and Candlekeep are strengthened with The Candlekeep Accord, detailing the creation of a railway stop near Candlekeep, scholarships to send qualifying students to study in Candlekeep, and most a promise to aid each other in the defense of the two cities.
The Star of Rei shines brightly at the top of the newly constructed star fortress in the central district.
Experiments in travel between the plane of air and and the material plane to shorten travel duration for airships sees its first success as a small airship travels from one side of Rei to the other through two portals.
Continued stalling in the reconstruction of Elturel and low employment in the northern country of Elturgard sees a large migration to neighboring countries, including the worker-hungry factories of Rei.
Gods all fall silent across the material plane, no longer exacting as much influence on the plane as they once did. Their ability to discern character in clerics seems to diminish as churches fracture as new lines of religious questioning pit worshipers against each other. Scholars theorize many reasons for this silence, perhaps they wish to leave to plane to its own devices, or the Overseer Ao had set a divine law that limited the influence of gods. Gods still seem to communicate, perhaps in more esoteric and subtle ways, but its clear the full effects of this silence are still to be seen.
The Central District Fortress Complex is completed
Iconocites fleeing religious persecution are promised safety and the freedom to practice religious activities in Rei. Tensions between the Iconocites and the already existing Church of Lathander see religious debates and arguments among priests of Lathander.
The first of many to come, the first airship capable of carrying suitable weights of cargo takes to the sky. Seeing the many applications and potential economic boons of such technology Rei invests in more airship construction sites.
In 1525 Amn’s ire once again looked north, the Council of Four now realizing that the city north of The Cloud Peaks border had power to rival its own. The conflict saw most of Reis overland trade shift to the northern ports and the first large scale airship battle. The states around Rei, mostly independent cities in Rei’s economic zone, became a strategic target for Amn, after taking a small town on the border many other cities economically tied with Rei, who would become part of the Free States, joined against Amn. The fighting would continue until the peace of 1529 with Amns surrender after the defeat of its Air Force and the bombing of Athkatla, the capital of Amn.
The Iconocites are slaughtered in Ardeep, officially beginning The Iconocite Schism within The Church of Lathander.
The National Learning Act is signed, creating public schools in many of the districts of Rei.
The Third Cloud Peak Conflict saw the surrender of Amn in the summer of 1529. Amn gave up many of its colonial ports and forts on its surrounding territories, and agreed to many economic concessions .
Influxes of Platinum, Gold, Silver, Electrum, and Copper from dragon hoards, new metal mines, and other economic factors increase the amount of hard currency in the global economy. The prices of goods in comparison to twenty years ago doubles or triples across most areas of Faerun over the coming years. Individual Countries introduce different monetary and fiscal policies to control inflation, many introduce paper currencies to better control national economies.
Smaller magic schools and research institutes in Rei are consolidated into The Rei National Institute of Spellcraft
After the discovery of unordained cadavers being bought by necromancers, factions of violent protests gathered around magic schools and research institutes demanding the execution of necromancers and the banning of all necromancy. In response to the outrage many new laws regarding cadavers in science and use of necromancy in Rei were passed, and many necromancers were either imprisoned or fled the city.
Many Necromancers who were found guilty of illegally possessed cadavers take plea deals and blow the lid on a major slave and body smuggling ring in Rei, leading to the arrests of hundreds of necromancers and smugglers. The District Courts executed, exiled, and imprisoned the necromancers, setting standards throughout Rei on how necromancy was punished in each district.
Johnathan Wild, in recognition for his exemplary work as a private detective and for recovering a stolen artifact is named The Thief Taker General by the district representative of New Lliilin.
The Greenfield Conference, called in response to Amnian aggression to its northern border, saw the free cities from the Sea of Swords to the Sea of Fallen Stars agree to a variety of different laws. The Conference saw standardized money in the form of metal coins and the Rei Dollar, approving the construction of new infrastructure across the cities, standardizing laws, and many more agreements bringing the many cities closer together and more efficient. Rei became the Protector of The Free Cities of The Greenfields, many cities agreeing to private military outposts and structures owned by Rei. Many of these cities also agreed to contribute to the military of Rei by under the Mandatory Service Act.
Never have the borders of Neverwinter been this large, nor has the nation ever had such power. The rebuilding of Neverwinter is hastened with the introduction of new resources and lands. There is still unrest in the nation's lands, and some even whisper that Dagult Neverember has grown tired of being called Lord-Protector and aims to convene a council to elect him as king. In addition, a Skyway is opened between Rei and Neverwinter, aiding trade and greatly reducing travel times. Rei is granted association status with the North-Sea Pact, with a lingering possibility of an alliance ever present.
