Lureen Greycastle
Lureen Greycastle (born 1467 DR) is a human woman, wizard, and thief, hailing from the city of Baldur's Gate. An Operator with The Guild, she has been in the organisation for over a decade. She grew up apprenticed to the man who was her caretaker, but after he fled the city, she became a thief.

Lureen Greycastle was born in 1467 DR in the Lower City of Baldur's Gate. Her mother, a young member of The Guild, had a reputation of being extremely promiscuous and sleeping around. Due to this, she was unsure who Lureen's father was. When Lureen was still a child, her mother had a job go terribly wrong. She seduced a patriar to get a combination to a safe, but before she could, she was strangled to death in bed with him. Her body was dumped in the harbour and the incident covered up, but the event was witnessed by a maid on The Guild's payroll.
Lureen was immediately adopted by a friend of her mothers', a wizard. As such, Lureen grew up with him tutoring her in the Art. While not a particularly good wizard, he was a good man, and tried to give Lureen the best life he could. However, when Lureen was in her early teens, he vanished overnight. Lureen awoke in the morning to find a spellbook and a note. It explained that her caretaker fled the city, as he had been hunted for many years by a group of adventurers for a crime he committed in his past, and they had finally tracked him down. Though his note stated they would probably not see each other again, he would attempt to find her if he survived. Later that day, Lureen tracked down the first Guild member she could find, and asked to join.
Even over a decade after Lureen's mother's death, her reputation persisted with older members of The Guild. Lureen gravitated towards the crew of Grigor Kulenov, who didn't make constant references about sleeping with Lureen's mother. Lureen's skills as a wizard proved vital to the group, as did her willingness to seduce marks. As the group expanded, Lureen didn't immediately gel with the new members - especially Sariel Liadon, who she saw as freeloading (by not having to seduce marks). However, when Sariel agreed to start doing that and splitting the load with Lureen, she warmed to the acrobat.
Sariel eventually came to see Lureen as something of a big sister, but in the end, the acrobat left the crew. Shortly thereafter, so did Grigor and Gilbert. Although Gael took control and attempted to maintain the crew's run of successes, a number of failed jobs put the group on the verge of collapse. Lureen considered leaving and finding another crew to run with, but Gael convinced her to stay. After several years, the crew's fortunes turned. While not as grand as the times under Grigor, they weren't bad either.

As a wizard, she is very intelligent, and does feel her skills are somewhat wasted being a thief - but she loves being a thief (and particularly loves stealing spellbooks). Overall, she tends to be skeptical of peoples' intentions, particularly men, and it is hard to win her trust. Despite her cold exterior, she has a sense of humour, and loves making jokes. In addition, she knows how to be smooth, and how to seduce any man she meets - which she mostly does for thieving, but occasionally for fun.
