Ryder the Danger

Ryder the Danger started life as Ryder Grant but when his merchant father first arrived at the N75 checkpoint and he heard the rumbling of the Hot Rodders vehicles he dedicated himself to join them. To earn the parts to build his own from junk he intervened with other potential joiners and smithing shops that helped others to try their hand at joining.
When it was his turn to race he showed up in a pickup body with most of the paneling used to make a dozer-like blade. He managed to survive the race impressing several of the Hot Rodders and got picked up by their official mechanics as an apprentice. 
Years later he leaves the Mechanic pit and hits the road with the truck souped-up with reinforced armor and rocketry and other hidden gadgets. He quickly climbed the normal ranks as he could work with the mechanics and the more cutthroat drivers with equal ferocity. Under his leadership, the numbers of Mechanics and Driver teams have tripled as he demanded each checkpoint have the same strength of arms and readiness. 
To outsiders, he is genuinely colder than his extended family but so far he has tended towards his group being as fair as possible...in their favor of course.
