Jonathon Maxson

Jonathon Maxson was the final High Elder of the Brotherhood of Steel, and the last of the Maxson family in the Southwest. The Maxson Family was the founders of the Brotherhood, and maintained control over the course of at least five generations, as such they had grown to have an almost idolization of them by the members of the BOS. Jonathan's early life was peaceful, for a time anyway, until he was 15, when the NCR-Brotherhood War broke out. Due to the Brotherhood's secrecy that started in the 2230s, the chain of command, including the identity of his father, was lost when the NCR started breaching into their bunkers, which would then self destruct in order to keep their secrets hidden. NCR Records place Jonathon's taking command sometime in 2265, after the loss of the Lost Hills Bunker. With that loss, the brotherhood was all but doomed. Lost Hills was the original bunker, and contained most of the Brotherhood's central command, including the Council of Elders. From then on, the war shifted from large scale hostilities, into a search and destroy operation for the NCR. In 2264, Jonathon and his wife, Jessica, had a son, and the two knew very well that he and the brotherhood would be doomed if they stayed, so they sent the infant east with a group of paladins, to the Capital wasteland, and the Eastern Brotherhood, which had long since severed contact with the West. The Following year, in 2268, the NCR sieged Maxson, the largest of the BOS Bunkers, and Jonathon and Jessica's Command Center. They fought with their chapter to the last, and ultimately, like all the others, Maxson's reactor blew, with all that was left of the Chapter inside, and around 180 NCR Troopers. Jonathon is remembered as the final true leader of the Western Brotherhood, after his death the organization completely fractured. The Mojave Chapter went completely off the grid, holding up in Helios One for as long as they could, while the rest of the Brotherhood in California was wiped out, one isolated bunker at a time.
