The Goddess Knights
Johan met with Sarah a woman supposedly in possession one of the Goddess Blades and the leader of the group. Johan was in awe of the swords power and was easily smitten at the idea of serving under his goddess and protecting people. At first Sarah was skeptical about a priest going out into battles, but changed her tune when she saw his powers in action. Johan spent the next decade happily serving the Goddess Knights. As the shade war calmed down, Johan decided to treat himself to a vacation to New Earth, where he met a young woman named Jesse. After a few drinks the two hooked up for the night. However, the next morning ashamed of what he had done, he flees the scene and back into the Fantasme. But upon his return he is met with horrible news. The esper twins Faellen and Nelleaf Ramifus, who had helped the team predict the enemies next move, had perished. Johan was informed that the two had hobbled into the base, but he was no where to be found and they passed in the night from their injuries. Johan was overwhelmed with guilt and blamed himself for the young girls' deaths. Later, an unforseen attack on the base from a mysterious new comer would cost the lives of Kalheim Aedian and Sherry Ligstien. Knowing well that the twins could have predicted this tragedy, Johan felt himself slipping into a spiraling depression. Johan was present at the battle for Onford. He knew his hearty wasn't in it anymore and his incompitance was costing his team the war. Unable to deal with it, Johan faked his own death and fled from battle.
After the War
Johan went into hiding in a small human village after the war, and for years remained a relatively unassuming human priest working at a local clinic. Madia Madora took his place as Head Cleric, and was the only one who knew of Johan's whereabouts. But after nearly 20 years, his past would return to confront him in the form of his old teammate Jérémie Aumerle. He would arrive with a young woman from New Earth and introduce her to him as Selene, his daughter.

History
Johan never had the chance to meet Selene, as he had only had a one night stand with her mother before returning to the Fantasme. He was unaware he had even gotten her pregnant, so it was a huge surprise when Jer introduced Selene as his daughter. Their first interactions were awkward as neither quite knew how to process the other's existence. Selene grew up never knowing her biological father, and had a poor relationship with any other 'father figure' in her life. It was then revealed that Selene had inherited Johan's light magic powers. Selene insisted that Johan teach her how to use her powers in battle like her did, but he was hesitant, which irritated her. Eventually though, Johan decided he wanted to have a good relationship with his estranged daughter and agreed to train her.
Relationship Description

While Johan felt guilt for not being around for Selene growing up, he also was hesitant in bonding with her, not ready for the responsiblity or memories of the past she brought up. Selene grew up with a poor outlook on father figures in her life. She felt angry and betrayed by the father she never met for so long, that when she finally met him, she could help but feel bitter that he wasn't around for her as a child. When she found out he had ran away from the war she could only see him as a pathetic coward.History
Johan heard about Sarah being a Goddess Blade wielder after the battle in Fanentous Capital. She considered him a valuable asset to the team when was heart broken when he went missing after the battle at Onford.History
When Jeremie and Johan first met, they got along pretty well. Their personalities meshed well and would often talk during down time. Which made things all the worse when he, along with the rest of the team, found out the truth of him being a Shade. Johan felt betayed that his friend was not only a demon, but one of they very creatures they have been fighting. When Jeremie was eventually let back on the team, Johan was one of the people who inicially opposed the decision, even threatening to leave himself, but eventually he was convinced to let him stay. Johan did not trust Jeremie for a long time, and hated working on the same team as a demon. It wasn't until a battle where Jeremie used his body as a shield to protect him that he started to open up to him once more.

Johan finds Jeremie an enjoyable person to talk to, but still gets uneasy around him. He admires Jer's willingness to help others despite how much he is hated by people, even though it brings up the uncomfortable subject of if a demon is inherently evil or if they can have a sense of morality, a subject Johan doesn't like to think about.History

They two did not get along well at all for a long time, Johan found Kalheim's careless personality grating at times, and Kalheim got annoyed at Johan's preachy nature. Kalheim would often do things to purposely get on his nerves. Johan would try to stop some of Kalheim's more destructive bad habits, like his abuse of potent mana potions, and his tenancy not to sleep. The two butted heads more than anyone in the group, but Johan couldn't convince himself to hate Kalheim. So when Kalheim perished at the hands of a demon attack on their base, Johan was horrified and felt deep guilt and sorrow for being unable to help him.
History
