Kingdom of Fortland

The Kingdom of Fortland, also known as the Kingdom of Heroes, is a country in northern Settan that was once part of the Kingdom of Villa. It seceded from the noble kingdom after a long and mutually exhausting rebellion led by Fortland's first heroes. Since then, successive generations of heroes and noble defenders have elevated their state to the international arena, where it began to seek the necessary allies to support the Kingdom of Fortland's subsequent battles, particularly those against the Kingdom of Villa.

Structure

The highest, but not absolute power in the country is held by the King. His responsibility is to be the official representative of the kingdom in international and domestic affairs. He is tasked with upholding the royal oath, which obligates him to see to the country's peace, maintain the rule of law in its lands and strengthen its wealth and power. The king is also the supreme commander of the kingdom's military force. In 1587 PG, this role is held by King Anthonym Weaderstrought.   Next to the King always sits his Right Hand, his closest intermediary, advisor and most often a friend. The duties of the Right Hand include managing the law-abiding in the kingdom and replacing the King in his absence from the royal court. In 1587 PG, this role is held by Rickred Sothomson, Defender of Rhadton.   The most important officials are a council of ten people with the following roles: Supreme Magistrate, Grand Commander, Master of Money, Keeper of the Acts, Sea Leader, Counterpuncher, Face of Faith, Royal Emissary, Court Mage and Inspired Technician.
