Desert Coast Region
The Desert Coast region is a broad area on the continent of Kajiantu, incorporating the Chozashi Desert, most of the coastal region west of the Northern and Southern Midasudo Ranges, and extending north to the Hall of Brass and Ruby and the edge of the Forest Fallewen. The central portion of the Whitetip Mountains are also associated with the Desert Coast.
Settlements within the Desert Coast mostly consist of independent city-states that are loosely affiliated with each other. The most notable among these are Mandjula, the only significant settlement in the Chozashi Desert, and Port Kashi, one of the larger port cities in the region. Traditionally speaking, Mandjula and Port Kashi are generally at odds with each other, with the other cities choosing on a case-by-case basis which of the two to side with. Although peace currently reigns, tensions will always be high between lawless Mandjula and rigid Port Kashi. Chulati City and its sister, Tetsiha, have also been known to develop their own faction from time to time when Mandjula and Port Kashi spark war.
Geography
The Desert Coast Region is defined by three important geographic features: the Chozashi Desert, the coastal region along the Kirnali Ocean, and the Northern and Southern Midasudo Ranges, along with the Whitetip Mountains. The area covers multiple biomes.
Fauna & Flora
Overall, the area is very dry, receiving little to no rainfall except along the very edge of the western coast, thanks to the enormous Whitetip Mountains as well as the Midasudo range. Vegetation there consists of various kinds of cacti and succulents, although shrubs and trees may be seen along the coastal part of the region, including the lovely Chozashi Palm tree.
The vast majority of the interior of the Desert Coast is uninhabited, and plagued by swarms of mutated monsters. Probably the most well-known of these relics of the Great Arcane Era are the jitterbugs, a kind of creature with the residual ability to teleport.
