Session 2 Report -- 12-16-2020
General Summary
Part 1: Goblin Arrows (continued)
Cragmaw Hideout
- After successfully resting in the back of the cavern, Sildar Hallwinter introduced himself to the party and discussed what he had overheard from the goblins regarding Gundren Rockseeker and his map being sent to Cragmaw Castle on orders from Black Spider
- Shortly after, a commotion was heard from a group of goblins bringing in a bugbear prisoner
- Soon to be discovered, the party attacked the goblins and befriended the bugbear, Skump, who shared a goal of defeating the leader of this clan, Klarg
- After defeating Klarg, the party identified supplies in his lair that had been destined for the Lionshield Coster in Phandalin
- Deciding to proceed on to Phandalin, the party set out
Part 2: Phandalin
- Seeking a place to rest, the party first visited the Stonehill Inn
- While there, the party left off some steam dancing, ordered some chicken, and went to some trouble to calm the townfolk's fears of the bugbear among them
- Toblen Stonehill mentioned to the party the problems of the Redbrands terrorizing the town
- The evening prices at the inn deemed too high, the party decided to conduct other business in town while seeking other accommodations
- The party next visited Barthen's Provisions to collect their reward for escorting the goods from Neverwinter
- Elmar Barthen also mentioned the Redbrands and also revealed that they frequented the Sleeping Giant tap house as their hangout
- Hearing the party's concerns over the inn prices, Elmar Barthen suggested to the party that Qelline Alderleaf is a gracious host and might allow them to stay in her barn
- After buying some tools, the party next stopped at the Lionshield Coster to check their stock of weapons and armor and inform Linene Graywind that her supplies could be recovered from Cragmaw Hideout with directions to its location
- Linene Graywind thanked the party and offered a reward once she had retrieved the supplies
- Next the party visited the Phandalin Miner's Exchange to exchange some goods
- Halia Thornton told the party that the Redbrands used the Tresendar Manor as a base of operations
- She also suggested the party deal with Glasstaff, the leader of the Redbrands, and return to her any correspondence found in their lair for a reward
- Finally, the party visited Qelline Alderleaf and learned that her son Carp Alderleaf had seen rough-looking men using a tunnel in the woods a short ways south of the Tresendar Manor
- The party then rested in the barn
