ToD: Session 2: A Trial in Candlekeep

General Summary

The party had checked if Matreous if he was able to be saved and they waited for Nax to come back. While he was getting the Emerald Guard. Zarra and Kyoshi were going to look for a guard and they found Nax talking to a person. They informed him of the death Matreous and got the Emerald Guard included in the investigation. The party was gathered and brought to the House of Rest for questioning, here they were led to one of the extradimensionel rooms for holding. After a little while they were led to another room where they saw multiple archmages. And they saw a Human named Janussi, the Keeper of Tomes. They told them what happened and after they confirmed it they were pronounced innocent. They were told that they were responsible for the evntual ressurection of Matreous and that Candlekeep would pay 1/5th of the needed 500 gp to revive him but the rest the party needed to get. They remembered that there was a Cleric named Lim in Candlekeep, they went to her and found out she was a Tortle. They asked if they could revive Matreous, she agreed on the condition that they paid the 100 gp a driftglobe and would do her a favor. The favor was to bring some wares and supplies and her servant Mark to Greenest. Mark was there to also get a talisman from a friend; Leosin. The party accepted and Matreous was revived. He needed a little rest before he could continue and so the party started to travel to Greenest.
On the road to Greenest they found a burning cart with dead people surrounding it. And a trail leading south. They followed the trail found bandits and killed them sneakily. They found their way inside and saw dogs growling and caged prisoners. Leo killed the dogs with a Burning Hands while everyone was deciding what to do. And after the Sidon walked straight into the open area with many bandits and this started a heavy combat. Where they eventually fought Captain Killz. Which was defeated, the party then rescued the prisoners and continued on their journey to Greenest. Here Mark also drfited like a king with the wagon.

Sundown is approaching when you top a rise and see the town of Greenest just a few short miles away. But instead of the pleasant, welcoming town you expected, you see columns of black smoke rising from burning buildings, running figures that are little more than dots at this distance, and a dark, winged shape wheeling low over the keep that rises above the center of the town.
Greenest is being attacked by a dragon!
