Steve
Ander, buddy, if we play our cards right we could get this all the way to the Big Man Downstairs. This is gonna be big!
Steve was a minor devil, most recently a spinagon (spiked devil) who was serving as the familiar for Ander Greycastle. He fell under Mephistopheles in the infernal hierarchy.
Personality
Steve was a cross between a greasy used car salesman and a politician.
History
After Ander broke from Tharizdun and began to seek the god's downfall, he sought out another benefactor. He found a willing partner in Mephistopheles. Steve (an imp at the time) was assigned to him as an infrequent companion, who remained invisible to all others. His conversations with Ander made his sanity appear more fragile than it perhaps was. Though there was no formal contract, it was seen as in the best interest of Hell for Tharizdun to be stopped. Having Steve present allowed the infernal hierarchy to both gain information, and give information to aid in the destruction of their enemy.
During this process, Steve learned of the Battleborn's quest to forge the Eternity Sphere not long before the tournament in the City of Brass. For gaining this information, Steve was promoted to a spined devil.
Steve was approached by Ander, who wished to deal with Bel to overthrow Zariel and gain Retribution, Shard of Justice. Steve was given the directive to pitch a meeting between the Battleborn and Asmodeus himself. Steve set up that meeting, and subsequently the Contract between Asmodeus & the Battleborn was signed.
After the signing of the contract, the spined devil was loaned to Ander to serve as his familiar.
