Behind the chaos that is happening in the Sword Coast North is one of the hidden lords of Waterdeep, also learned that an old magic is returning in Faerun. He learned that the Starmetal Hills hold a catalysator for this magic and tries to grab hold of the mines there. To do so he aims at destabilizing the Sword Coast North to gain control over these lands.
